What You Can Do With the IP Address 192.168.1.1?

192.168.1.1 is the common IP address that is used by many modems and routers nowadays. It’s a default IP address where you can access your modem or wireless router to change settings, change the WiFi name or password. Sometimes, your modem or router may use a different IP address, such as 192.168.0.1, 192.168.11.1 or 10.0.0.1, depending on the brand. You do not always need to know the IP address of your modem or router. You only need it when setting up a new modem or wireless router, changing settings or troubleshooting a network problem.

What Is 192.168.1.1?

Let us use a simple example to explain the nature of this IP address. The computer you use in your office can have this IP address, and your home computer can also be given an identical address – and this won’t cause any problems. The IP address is made up of two parts: namely network number and host number. Network ID is a network on the Internet, the host number identifies a host in the network. The address of the IPv4 is 32 bits and 4 bytes, but we use the decimal notation in practice. Part of the router’s IP address is 192.168.1.254 and 192.168.0.1.

How To Connect To A Router Via 192.168.1.1 IP Address?

As I mentioned above, you can quickly access your modem or wireless router configuration page by filling out 192.168.1.1 in your browser’s address bar and press Enter. Once you’ve accessed the admin panel of your router, you can change many options there, including PPOE, DNS, LAN, WAN, WLAN settings, IP QoS, Proxy, security options, network management, MAC, WPS, DHCP client or even your modem or wireless router’s default IP address.

If you can’t remember the username or password, it is really simple. The only way is to reset your router for the factory settings, hold the reset button for 15 seconds, wait for your Power, WLAN and Internet lights to activate. It will success.

In this process, it will break your internet connection, because your internet settings will be broken after that. In addition, once you have reset the router, all your original settings will be cancelled and all settings will be restored to the factory settings.
